Iowa Sutra is a solo performance written/created, directed, and performed by Rebecca Bronson.  

Iowa Sutra takes audiences on a wild and divulgent escapade into the world of nursing homes, gynecological exams, catholic school torture chambers, and hypochondriacal nightmares before delivering them to the comforting doorway of corn fed, Iowa bred anarchy. Iowa Sutra weaves together original imagery, memoir, historical recovery, and avant-garde journalism to create a humorous, shocking, and wildly creative ethnoparable. Iowa Sutra revives in audiences, women specifically, the spiritual necessity of returning to the soil of body memory to review and renew, and critically examine the historical, patriarchal, and ideological roots that have shaped generations of women's beliefs, feelings, and practices of  body, mind, and creativity.
